Teams representing each of these companies will compete for the Ranji Trophy in a one-day tournament on August 1st in Malahide Cricket Club. If you know anyone who works in any of these organisations or you love watching cricket, come along and give them a cheer. It’s free. If the weather is great you can even have a picnic.

 

The Ranji Cricket Committee are honoured to announce that Her Highness, Raksha Rajkumari, Ranji’s great-grand-daughter will attend the Ranji Cricket Tournament at Malahide Cricket Grounds on the day and will present the Ranji Trophy to the winning team.

Format – How it will be done

 

Each team will consist of 6 players. Normally there are 11 players on a cricket team but, in this format, one team of 6 players will bat, while a second team of 6 players does the bowling and a third team of 6 players gives them a hand by catching in the field. After the first team has batted for 6 overs of six bowls each, then the second team bats, while the third team bowls and the first team fields, and so on. In this way 3 teams can play one another in a fast and fun format that allows a whole tournament to take place in a single day.
